Denise Jauregui MSW, LCSW (she/ella)
Denise is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in culturally-affirming mental health services and training. She holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work, a Bachelor’s in Psychology, and a Bachelor’s in Family and Human Development. With extensive experience in providing individual therapy, group therapy, and mental health trainings, Denise has worked with a wide range of communities. Her experience includes educating communities and organizations on mental health research, diagnoses, therapeutic modalities, and leading workshops to promote wellness and emotional well-being. Denise has supported diverse populations, including asylum seekers, immigrants, survivors of domestic violence, individuals struggling with substance use disorders, and those involved in the juvenile and adult justice systems. She has worked with children, teens, and adults from various cultural backgrounds, with a focus on the Latinx community and Spanish-speaking populations. As the eldest daughter of Mexican parents, Denise understands firsthand the unique challenges that come with navigating family dynamics, immigrant-related stressors, and cultural expectations. She primarily works with individuals facing similar experiences, such as being the first in the family to achieve certain milestones and the specific challenges faced by eldest children in Latinx families. Denise emphasizes the importance of connecting with one's roots and cultural identity, while acknowledging the impact of generational trauma and resilience. She is deeply attuned to the cultural nuances and systemic factors that shape the lives of these individuals, helping them explore resilience and healing within their familial and cultural contexts.
